Car battery dies overnight.?

I have a 1999 Chevy Lumina. One night I left the back door slightly opened and needed a boost the next morning. After that my car would always die overnight and I needed to get a boost every morning. Before all of this the car ran well. I had a problem with having to keep getting oil changes. Then I was told the transmission needed work. So I got that fixed. And no longer needed an oil change every month. But that was a months before I started having this problem. Any ways, could i need a new battery? I was also told something about needing a new altenator. If so what type of battery or altenator and how much do they cost? I know nothing of cars except they are made to be driven. I wanna just be able to get in my old car and go like I used to. Please help.Car battery dies overnight.?What happened is when you left the door open and it drained the battery, it left the battery low on charge. A 15 minute ride to work and back will not charge it enough to out last the draw from your computer chip and radio set up.

You need to go to the Auto Parts store and let them put the battery on a charger for a couple of hours to get it fully charged and then don't leave your door ajar.Car battery dies overnight.?Why did you need an oil change every month? Oil usually lasts 3 months or 3000 miles before changes. Sounds like someone is taking your money. Go to an auto parts store like autozone or advanced auto and they will test your battery and alternator for free.

A new battery will run about $75 to $100 for a good one. I buy used ones at the junkyard for $20.

A 99 Lumina would probably take a type 75 battery- side terminal.Car battery dies overnight.?you can go to auto zone. or any auto parts store. and they will check it for free. and then you can decide what you need. before you go. you can check the battery cables and make sure they are tight and clean.Car battery dies overnight.?i don't know what a transmission repair has to do with oil changes??? ther is no connection i can think of
